Thanksgiving is a special day. That day, people celebrate what we are grateful for. In thanksgiving, they will invite relatives and friends to our home. Children will come too. They usually bored with just having lunch together. So, when you have conversation with your guest, you can make your kids and other kids busy to do some things like crafts. Here are some wonderful Thanksgiving arts and crafts for kids that you can try before asking your kids to do it.
Tabletop Turkey
Material and tools:
- Paper cup
- Some pom-pom
- Construction paper (with various color)
- Glue
- Googly eyes
Instructions:
- Paint the paper cup brown. Turn it upside down and paste a pom-pom on the top to create the turkey’s head.
- Make the feathers. Prepare the construction paper. Cut out 9 piece of 4-inch leaf pattern from different paper’s color.
- Make the beak. Prepare a 1-inch orange construction paper. Fold the paper in half. Cut out a triangle pattern of the folded paper.
- Make the wattle. Fold a 2-inch red construction paper in half. Then, cut a beautiful heart shape.
- Attach the beak and wattle to the pom-pom. After that, add the googly eyes. Afterward, glue on the feather that you’ve created previously.

Material and tools:
- Cup
- cup holder
- Stirrers
- Scissors
- Paper flag
- Stick for the paper flag
- Papers
Instructions:
- Cut off the bottom of the cup you prepare. Make two slits at the center edge with scissors’ tip.
- Place the cup into cup holder with the bottom side up.
- Cut 2 rectangle papers to make sail. Cut 2 small slits at each sail’s center at the bottom and the top.
- Push stirrers through the slits you’ve made.
- Attach paper flag on each mast’s top. Push the stick into the slits inside the cup.

Mail Calendar
Thanksgiving is all about thanks. The simplest art and craft project that your kids can do is make a thanks mail calendar.
Material and tool:
- Mini crafts envelopes
- Foam core (the size is up to you)
- Glue
- Paint
- Picture Frame
Instructions:
- Paint the core foam. You can draw anything you want. Alternatively, you can just color the surface. Then, let it dry.
- Attach mini crafts envelopes on the painted foam core. Do not forget to write the date on each envelope (from 1 to 30).
- Ask your kids and whole family to write on a piece of paper about what they are thankful.
- Put the note inside the envelope according to the date you write them.
- Just wait Thanksgiving comes and open your envelopes that day.
